Alethe Bailey

Biography

Alethe began her educational career as a Teacher of Information Technology and Business Studies. She worked in primary and secondary schools in England and overseas before coming to Newman as an Information Technology lecturer where she led the development of the postgraduate and undergraduate information technology programmes.

Alethe has a passion for computer science education and a strong commitment to life-long learning. She is convinced that teachers trained to the highest standards would provide children with the best schooling possible. She worked extensively on a range of computing projects and collaboratively with schools and other establishments to enhance teaching and learning. Her research interests include creative computing, cyber culture and the gender divide in computer science.
